HELTONVILLE - NOVEMBER 28, 2022 - Three people were injured in a two vehicle traffic accident on Tuesday November 22, 2002, at the intersection of Indiana State Road 446 and Indiana State Road 58 East.

The accident was reported at 4:50 p.m.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff's Department accident report, Katrina Craig, 46, Mitchell, IN was traveling eastbound on State Road 58 in a 2019 Ford Fiesta and pulled into the path of Alex Howe, 28, Bedford, who was traveling northbound on Indiana State Road 446 in a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville.

A passenger 7-year-old Cashton Howe was injured in the crash and transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Craig had to be extricated from her vehicle by the Bedford Fire Department extrication team.

There were reports that one vehicle rolled over several times.

Stat-Flight helicopter landed at the Heltonville Ball Park to transport that patient to the University of Louisville Hospital.

The two patients were transported to IU Bloomington Hospital were one of the accident victims was then airlifted to a trauma center.

Emergency personnel from the Pleasant Run Township Volunteer Fire Department, Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department, Bedford Fire Department, IU Lifeline Ambulance Bedford, and IU Lifeline Ambulance Bloomington, Stat- Flight helicopter, and Stone City Collision responded to the scene.

Indiana State Road 446 and Indiana State Road 58 intersection was closed for several minutes while emergency crews worked the accident scene.
