Police had established probable cause for the arrest of Flynn for four burglaries in Lawrence County. On Wednesday morning, February 7th, the Sheriff's Office received a call from a homeowner in the 3400 block of Springville-Judah Road about an unwanted male on the property.

Flynn was believed to be the male, however, he was gone when officers arrived. Officers did locate a stolen truck hidden in the woods on the property, as well as stolen Stihl equipment.

Capt. Harrison Fleetwood, Sheriff Greg Day, and ISP Trp. Chance Humphrey searched the area.

Other homeowners called to report the same male in various locations along Washboard Road and North Pike Road. Other officers from the Sheriff's Office and Oolitic PD responded to the area and a perimeter was established.

Eventually, during the search, Flynn was observed by Capt. Fleetwood, Sheriff Day, and Deputy Brenten Trueblood. Flynn failed to comply with verbal commands and fled on foot.

Officers apprehended Flynn after a short foot pursuit.

Flynn resisted and struggled with officers but was taken into custody. During a search of Flynn, one officer was stuck by a hypodermic syringe and received medical treatment.

Flynn was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Flynn was transported to IU Health Bedford for treatment of minor injuries and for evaluation after he told officers he had swallowed methamphetamine and heroin just prior to being captured.

Once cleared at the hospital, Flynn was incarcerated in the Lawrence County Jail for multiple offenses, including burglary, theft, and resisting law enforcement. Other charges, including additional burglaries and thefts, are expected to be filed as well.
