Springville Community Academy and North Lawrence Community School try to improve relationship

SPRINGIVLLE - APRIL 13, 2023 - The Springville Community Academy and Rural Affairs approved the land purchase agreement with North Lawrence Community Schools Thursday night.


According to Albert Cross, president of the Springville Community Academy and Rural Affairs it will probably take 21 days for the land transfer to be completed and finalized.

Two parcels of land were appraised at $20,500 which included five acres and half acre at the northwest part of the property at the Springville Community Academy.


The cost of $17,000 for the five acres and $3,500 for the half acre of land the school owns.

" We have many students who will be going to North Lawrence High School, and we would like to rebuild the relationship. Our goal is prepare our students for high school and this is a step in the right direction," said Albert Cross president SCA.

Springville Community Academy is currently raising funds through the community to help with the financial obligation of the purchase.


Springville Community Academy is 40% of the way to our goal. So far, $8,305 has been raised in donations.


On March 16, 2023, the North Lawrence Community School Board voted unanimously to sell their remaining property around the former Springville Elementary School to the Springville Community and Rural Foundation, Inc. (SCARF) for $20,500. SCARF is the 501c3 Nonprofit organization that is doing business as (dba) Springville Community Academy.
