Slick Road Conditions Cause Accident on Lincoln Avenue and throughout Southern Indiana

BEDFORD - JANUARY 30, 2023 - Accidents are started to be reported throughout the southern part of Indiana as road conditions are becoming slick and hazardous.

Motorists are asked to stay off the roadways if at all possible.

Around 9:00 pm Bedford Police, Bedford Fire and Mikels Towing responded to a single vehicle accident in the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue Monday night. The vehicle striking a utility pole. Witness tells the Lawrence County Zephyr the driver was able to make out of the vehicle without any entrapment.

Lincoln Avenue was ice covered with motorists reporting hazardous road conditions from 15th Street to 5th Street with areas of trouble at the roundabout.

Indiana Department of Transportation already have crews working the state highways as temperatures were reported at 24 degrees around 9:00 pm.

Indiana State Road 37 had slick road conditions with a few slide offs reported.

Yellow Travel advisories have been issued in several counties throughout the state.

Mitchell Community Schools is reporting a two-hour delay at this time.
