Severe Weather Potential Overnight Possible

LAWRENCE COUNTY - (December 10, 2021) - Residents in Southern Indiana need to be on the lookout for severe weather late this evening into Saturday morning. Here is a statement from the National Weather Service.


Severe thunderstorms possible late this evening, and continue through
the overnight hours. Damaging winds will be the primary risk from
storms, but a few tornadoes and large hail will also be possible.
Brief heavy rainfall may produce localized flooding in some
locations as well.

Today
Rain likely, mainly after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 64. South southeast wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. 

Tonight A chance of rain and thunderstorms, then rain and possibly a thunderstorm after 8pm. Some storms could be severe, with damaging winds. Temperature rising to around 67 by midnight. Breezy, with a south-southwest wind 11 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday Rain and thunderstorms likely before noon, then a slight chance of rain between noon and 1pm. Partly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 38 by 5pm. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 28. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Sunday Sunny, with a high near 48. Calm wind becoming south southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
