Several Lawrence County 4-H STEAM events are underway in July

LAWRENCE COUNTY - JUNE 26, 2023 - Superior STEAM is a yearlong youth development program through the Lawrence County Purdue 4-H Extension Office. Their goal is to inspire and teach the next generation of scientists, artists, engineers, innovators, and leaders--and now youth from around the county can get a small taste of what this great program does through the THREE (3) upcoming events in July.

Yard Sale Fundraiser Event

On July 1st from 8am to 1pm the 4-H Club Superior STEAM will host a yard sale at the Sandy & Danny Daugherty Center for STEAM Excellence (1301 I St in Bedford) to raise money for the club. The money raised will be used to cover costs for student and team registration, tools, and supplies. Superior STEAM is free to join and does not pass costs onto members. Therefore, the club relies on fundraising through working at IU Concessions, grants, sponsorships, and other fundraisers such as this one.

Demos of robots and other projects, as well as building tours, will be available during this time.

Kids will be selling popcorn, soda, hot dogs and popsicles.

Check out the event on Facebook.

STEAM Nights

Superior STEAM is hosting STEAM Nights that are open to anyone 6-18 years old. The student members of Superior STEAM have amassed thousands of hours of experience and knowledge through competitions, workshops, and--most importantly--the knowledge of professional adult mentors. the two nights will be focusing on the five aspects of STEAM: science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Learn, make, and play with world class students here in Lawrence County.

This year the STEAM Nights will be held on July 20th & 21st from 5pm-8pm at the Danny & Sandy Daugherty Center for STEAM Excellence: 1301 I St, Bedford, IN 47421.

Please register your student (6-18 years old at time of sign up) at or scan the QR code. If you have any questions, email
