MITCHELL - JUNE 20, 2022 - A person has been airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY after being injured following a fight on State Road 60 East near Hollace Chastain Road Monday afternoon.
Stat Flight Helicopter leaves to Louisville, KY with a person injured from being dragged and thrown from a moving vehicle Monday afternoon
A witness told the Lawrence County Zephyr that a person was dragged and thrown from a moving vehicle.
The 911 call reporting the incident came in at 3:51 p.m. to the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department. Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham stated the incident is still under investigation and details could not be released at this time.
Emergency personnel from Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department, Seals Ambulance Service, and IU Lifeline Ambulance service responded to the incident.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a landing zone in Mitchell to wait for Stat Flight Helicopter to transport the man to a trauma center.
Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department responded to the landing zone to prepare it for the medical helicopter. Lawrence County Zephyr will release more information when it becomes available.
