Orleans man in Jail after a pursuit that ended in Lawrence County on Wednesday

LAWRENCE COUNTY - OCTOBER 20,2023 - A Orleans man is behind bars after leading several police agencies in a pursuit that started in Bloomington and ending in Lawrence County Wednesday.

The Bloomington Police Department initiated the vehicle pursuit of a white 2017 Dodge Durango that started at a Marathon gas station for drug charges.


The incident started around 11:37 am Wednesday and Indiana State Police pursued the vehicle south on Indiana State Road 37 with Indiana State Police, Bloomington Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff's Department and Lawrence County Police agencies joining the pursuit.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department loosing sight of the vehicle on Indiana State Road 58.


The Indiana State Police then spotted the vehicle parked at the Marathon Station on East 16th Street.


The driver and suspect Zachary Reed Hupp, 22, Orleans, was arrested for possession of meth, marijuana, and parahernalia with active warrants from both Lawrence and Monroe Counties. Hupp warrant in Lawrence County includes a criminal mischief charge, and Intimidation, and public intoxication in Monroe County.


Hupp booked into the Lawrence County Jail at 12:35 pm
