North Lawrence Community School Employees to See Largest Pay Increase Since 2018

BEDFORD - JUNE 20TH, 2022 - North Lawrence Community School board met Monday night in a brief meeting to approve the largest pay increase for employees since 2018. School board member Kristen Collier was not present during this evening's meeting and Dr. Kamal Girgis appeared by zoom.



" We have delivered on a promise I made to our employees since I began as Superintendent and that is to shift our operational costs and improve wages to our employees," said Dr. Ty Mungle following the school board meeting Monday night.

The average pay increase with starting pay of $4.26 Since 2018, and average top wage increase by $1,71 since 2018. The pay increases do not include to health insurance or other benefits by the school corporation. Food services is now being managed by another company and not North Lawrence Community Schools.


In other business:

  • Board members also approved to update the classified handbook which includes paid time off. This is to keep in line with other school corporations in the area.

  • Although not on this evening's agenda the school board also in a 4-2 vote voted to extend the administrator's contract for one year, including NLCS Supt. Dr. Ty Mungle. The assistant administrators have been extended for two years. We will give a complete list under the personnel changes.

  • Approved a $4.3 Million in payroll for the month.
