No one injured in Seymour house fire -pet did not survive


SEYMOUR - FEBRUARY 4, 2024 - Seymour Fire Department responded to a house fire at approximately 6:30 pm Saturday night. The SeymourFire Department did not provide the location in their release.



Fire units arrived on scene to heavy smoke pushing out of the eaves of the home on all sides and fire showing out the rear of the residence.



Neighbors were able to inform first arriving firefighters that the residents were not home. Firefighters made entry and performed an initial rapid search locating a family pet.



The crews marked the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. SFD crews remained on scene until 2120 performing overhaul and determining cause and origin of the fire.


The Red Cross was contacted to assist the family that was displaced.


No humans were injured in the fire, unfortunately the family pet did not survive.
