Mitchell resident Tonya Millis to run for Vice- Chair Indiana Libertarian Party

LAWRENCE COUNTY - NOVEMBER 11, 2022 - Republican Erin Houchin won the Indiana 9th district congressional race with 138,765 votes cast with 62.9 percent of the vote in Tuesday's night's election.

Mitchell's Tonya Millis will run for the Vice- Chair of the Libertarian Party

Houchin defeated both Democrat candidate Matt Fyfe, who got 6,370 votes and Libertarian Party candidate Tonya Millis got 6,370 votes.

"Although the 2022 Election results did not go as planned, I will always remember the wonderful People I met on the campaign trail. I want to thank my campaign manager, Chris Gault, for all the hard work he put into Team Tonya so the People would have a better option than the tyrannical duopoly. I want to give much gratitude to my Communications Director, and dear friend, Darin Kinser, who was there for me day in and day out while running his own race for Sheriff. And to the donors and all the volunteers who helped put signs out. Finally, 'thank you' to the voters who took a chance for change and voted 'Tonya Millis'. I will continue to spread Libertarianism in Indiana. I do not know what the future holds for me. You know the saying, 'When one door closes, another door opens.' I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life, whatever that may be," said Millis in her press lease following her loss Tuesday night.

Millis however just announced that she will be running for Vice- Chair of the Libertarian Party.

Millis states that she wants to grow the Libertarian Party in the State of Indiana assisting the state chairman Evan McMahon in getting the party affiliated with the LPIN.

The Libertarian Party will hold the LPIN State Convention in March 2023.
