Mitchell Police Department - Two Arrested on Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

MITCHELL - SEPTEMBER 1, 2022 - On September 1, 2022, at approximately 12:26 a.m. Mitchell officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle bearing false/ fictitious plates.


K9 Koah was deployed, conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle and indicated to the presence of illegal narcotics.

Officers located a loaded syringe that later tested positive for the presence of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl. Officers also located small plastic baggies, with two of the small plastic baggies containing a crystal-like substance that tested positive for the presence of Methamphetamine and cash.

Two individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.

Jordan Pence, 25 Orleans, was arrested for [possession of methamphetamine and Nicholas Stroud 40, Mitchell was arrested for dealing methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe and Possession of Methamphetamine

Orleans Police Department and Lawrence County Sheriff's Office assisted Mitchell Police Department.
