MITCHELL - JANUARY 31, 2023 - On 01-30-2023 in the evening hours, Mitchell officers went to an apartment complex to serve an arrest warrant on an individual for a felony drug charge.

Upon arrival, Mitchell officers made contact with a female who advised the individual officers were looking for was in the apartment.
Once inside, Mitchell Officers located Kathy Martin attempting to hide behind a bed in one of the bedrooms. Mitchell Officers apprehended the female without any incident. While officers were in the bedroom, they observed multiple drug related items in plain view.
Mitchell Officers applied for a search warrant that was signed by the honorable Judge John Plummer.
After executing the search warrant, Mitchell Officers located 10 used hypodermic syringes with a clear liquid substance that field tested positive for the presence of Methamphetamine. Two glass smoking devices were also located with crystal like substances inside that also tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.
Mitchell officers determined the bedroom was of Joe Biaso and Kathy Martin.
Both were arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Security Center where they were both charged with Unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.
