Lawrence County Commissioners pass ordinance to slow traffic down in Springville Area
SPRINGVILLE - SEPTEMBER 27, 2022 - Lawrence County Commissioners passed an ordinance to slow traffic down in the Springville area.

Speed limit ordinance have been passed in around Springville Community Academy Tuesday morning by the Lawrence County Commissioners
Lawrence County Highway Superintendent Brandi Webb and Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham conducted traffic studies and recommended the following changes.
Springville Community Academy officials was concerned that about the speed limit signs around the school not identifying speed limits in the area. The sheriff also looked at the speed limit in the area of Lawrence County Independent School on Old Farm Road in Fayetteville.
The following speed limits will be enforced by the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department following proper public notice.
Bedford Street in both directions - maximum speed limit of 25 miles per hour
Brick Street in both directions - maximum speed limit of 25 miles per hour
Old Farm Road in both directions - maximum speed limit of 35 miles per hour
Old Farm Road at the Lawrence County Independent School zone in both directions - maximum speed limit of 25 Miles per hour
Popcorn Road south of Spencer Pike Road in both directions - maximum speed limit of 25 miles per hour
Springville Drive in both directions - maximum speed of 20 miles per hour
Springville/Judah Road from Popcorn Road to Harrodsburg Road in both directions speed limit of 35 miles per hour including the area around Springville Park.
