The Mill Creek Road and Cement Plant Road Bridge projects have taken a long time to work through. In December 2020, Lawrence County had to pay CSX railroad $15,000 to conduct a study for the project. The county just recently received approval from CSX for the project. The design work for the replacement of the bridge and realignment of the roadway was finally approved after the county sought after easements for the project.

The Lawrence County Commissioners and Council also approved the payment for engineering study for the Cement Plant Road Project.
