BEDFORD - AUGUST 2, 2022 - A lawnmower fire extended into a garage Tuesday evening at 17 Indian Trails Circle.
The 911 call reporting the fire came in at 6:41 p.m. with firefighters from Shawswick Township, Marion Township, Oolitic Volunteer Fire Departments and IU Lifeline Ambulance was dispatched to the scene.
Three engines and one tanker responded from Shawswick and Marion Township. Oolitc Volunteer Fire Department was disregarded after the discovering the fire was out.
The fire was extinguished by the property owner David Banks with a garden hose prior to the fire departments arrival. However, smoke could still be seen coming from an attic vent, therefore firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to make sure the fire was completely out.
Firefighters remained on the scene for about one hour.
