Knotting Hill Drive Accepted as County Road

LAWRENCE COUNTY - MAY 11, 2022 - Lawrence County Commissioner accepted Knotting Hill Drive as a county road. The roadway met the specifications set forth by the county. The road has also been added into the 911 system as county roadway.

In other business:

• A public hearing will be held on May 24th to hear Brad Hawkins request permission to vacate a Right of Way on Old State Road 37.

• Interim County Highway Supt. Brandi Webb reports that the crews continue to cut brush, patching and paving in district 2 will begin about the first of June weather permitting

• EMA Director Valarie Luchuaer reports that Active Shooter Drill was conducted recently with 13 drills conducted over 2 1/2 days that went well. Several participants from area schools took part in the drill. A Haz-Mat drill will be conducted in June.

• Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham reports there were 132 Inmates which included 111 Males, 21 females, 8 DOC inmates, and 1 parole. This is 73 percent capacity.
