Juvenile Arrested In Regard to Threats Made At Seymour High School Tuesday

SEYMOUR -(March 16, 2022) -On March 15, 2022, the Seymour Police Department was made aware of a threat at the Seymour High School. The threat involved a future date.




A Seymour High School faculty member received a mobile device screen shot of a social media conversation between two Seymour High School students and immediately forwarded it to School Resource Officers.


School Resource Officers then informed the Seymour Police Department Investigation Division of the information. Investigators and School Resource Officers immediately began an investigation based on the information received.


Investigators conducted interviews with witnesses and later located the suspect and took him into custody. The suspect is a 15-year-old male juvenile. The suspect is a student at Seymour High School. Investigators conducted an interview with the suspect and ultimately arrested him on a charge of intimidation.

The Seymour Police Department and Seymour Community Schools would like the public to know that threats of this nature are taken very seriously and investigated thoroughly. The Seymour Police Department and Seymour Community Schools want the public to know that no student or faculty member was in any immediate danger based off facts from the investigation and the interview conducted with the suspect. Enhanced safety measures were immediately taken by Seymour Community Schools.
