Judge sentences Williams man to prison for Probation Violations

BEDFORD – MARCH 3,2023 - Lawrence Superior Court I Judge John M. Plummer III sentenced a Williams man to a total of 6 years in the Indiana Department of Correction with 4 years executed and 2 suspended to Probation Wednesday morning.

Jeremiah Johnson was sentenced to 6 years to the Department of Corrections

Jeremiah Johnson, 29, pleaded guilty to Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury to a Public Safety Official, a Level 5 felony, as a part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana in August of 2022.

Johnson violated the terms of his probation in January of 2023 when he was charged with Possession of a Narcotic Drug, a level 6 Felony.

As a result, Honorable Judge Plummer III sentenced him to 6 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections with 4 years executed for the Probation Violation and the new charge.

" The Defendant in these cases informed the Court that he wished to seek addiction treatment options while incarcerated, The State did not object and Judge Plummer created avenues for treatment as part of the Defendant's sentence" Arp also stated that the two year probation portion of the Defendant's would help him remain accountable once he returns to our community.
