Judge sentences Mitchell man to prison for Probation violations.

BEDFORD – MARCH 30, 2023 - Lawrence Superior Court I Judge John M. Plummer III sentenced a Mitchell man to 2 years and 96 days in the Indiana Department of Correction after many Probation violations.

Brandon Summers, 42, pleaded guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, as a part of a negotiated plea agreement with the State of Indiana. The plea agreement, negotiated by a Lawrence County Deputy Prosecutor in 2020, outlined that Summers will execute 30 months in the Lawrence County Jail with credit for time served, the remainder of the sentence suspended and 2 years of supervised probation.

After many Probation violations since the time of sentencing Summers has violated many times resulting in the Honorable Judge Plummer III to sentence him to serve the remaining time of his sentence in the Indiana Department of Corrections with Recovery While Incarcerated recommendations.

"Mr. Summers was given ample opportunity to succeed and was unsuccessful. Hopefully, he will take advantage of the programs offered at the Indiana Department of Corrections and take steps to improve his life” Samuel C. Arp II
