Judge Cline Revokes Bond for Dustin Weldon for Probation Violations

LAWRENCE COUNTY - MAY 16, 2022 - Dustin Weldon, 34, Shoals appeared in person before Judge Bob Cline Monday afternoon in Lawrence County Superior Court II at 1:00 p.m. for his initial hearing.

Weldon faces more than 70 years of prison, on 10 counts of charges including attempted murder following a shooting in the parking area of the Hauck House on Thursday morning.


Judge Bob Cline revoked Weldon's bond due to probation violations for using alcohol or drugs on or about April 19, 2022, and his newest charges stemming from Thursday's shooting. Weldon previously has been convicted of domestic battery, burglary and other drug related offenses.


Weldon faces over 70 years in the Department of Corrections for the crimes being alleged in the shooting that occurred last week.


Weldon requested to hire his own attorney and the court has scheduled a hearing on May 23, 1:00 p.m. to find out his progress in obtaining one.


Judge Cline set his bond of $200,000 or $20,000 surety on his attempted murder charge and nine other counts. An Omnibus court date has been set on June 25, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in Lawrence County Superior Court II.


Judge Cline entered an automatic not guilty Plea on Weldon's behalf for the following charges:


  • Attempted murder - Level 1 Felony

  • Aggravated battery - Level 3 Felony

  • Battery with a deadly weapon - Level 5 Felony

  • Criminal Recklessness w/ Deadly weapon - Level 6 Felony

  • Carrying a Handgun without a license - Level 5 Felony

  • Pointing a firearm - Level - 6

  • Possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer - Class A Misdemeanor

  • Possession of meth - Level 5 Felony

  • Possession of Marijuana -Class A Misdemeanor

  • Possession of Paraphernalia - Class C Misdemeanor

  • Petition to revoke

Dustin will remain in the Lawrence County Jail at this time.
