James E. Ford appointed Pleasant Run Township Trustee

HELTONVILLE - APRIL 10, 2024 - James E. Ford has been been named Pleasant Run Township Trustee following the resignation of Michael Nicolson.

James Ford will serve out the term until 2026 and Nicolson will serve as Pleasant Run Township Advisory Board member.


The taxpayers of Pleasant Run Township was only notified of these developments recently after James Ford was sworn-in by Lawrence County Clerk Amy Voorhies.



According to Lawrence County Clerk Amy Voorhies, Nicholson submitted his resignation on February 25th, with an effective date of April 1, 2024 due to health and personal reasons.

According to Amy Voorhies, Lawrence County Clerk, the township did not have to notify the public of any changes, or conduct a caucus because the township has only one precinct committeemen.

The Pleasant Run Township precinct committeemen is Patty Ford who's husband Paul and grandson James serves on the Pleasant Township Advisory Board.



The only people inconvenience was to the those needing township assistance in finding who the township trustee is and his/her location.

Lawrence County Republican Chairman Heath Hawkins was asked by the Lawrence County Zephyr why was not the public notified of these changes.


" To be honest, I dropped the ball and this one was on me," said Hawkins.
