INDIANA STATE POLICE MAKE DRUG ARREST FOLLOWING TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

Greene County - January 9, 2023 - On Saturday afternoon, January 7, 2023, Trooper C. Garvin was working near I-69 and SR 445 during High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Awareness (HIDTA) campaign when a vehicle stop resulted in an arrest and discovery of Methamphetamine.



Cody Kay Etherton, a 39-year-old female from Nineveh was found to have two active warrants. One warrant was out of Johnson County and one was out of Owen County. During the stop, Trooper Garvin found Etherton to be in possession marijuana and approximately 6.7 grams of methamphetamine.


Etherton was arrested and transported to the Greene County Jail for the following charges,

  • Dealing Methamphetamine, a Level 3 Felony

  • Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 5 Felony

  • Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor

An arrest photo may be obtained from the Greene County Jail.

The High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program was created by Congress with the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988. It provides assistance to Federal, State, Local, and Tribal Law Enforcement agencies operating in areas determined to be critical drug-trafficking regions of the United States. This grant program is administered by the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
