Indiana GOP Convention Delegates Choose Party Nominees
INDIANAPOLIS - JUNE 19 - 2022 - The Indiana GOP Convention delegates have chosen the party's nominees for State Offices.
Lawrence County Republican Party delegates choose the party's nominees for State Secretary of State, Auditor, and Treasurer
The results include:
1. Diego Morales is the Republican candidate for Secretary of State.
2. Daniel Elliott is the Republican candidate for State Treasurer.
3. Tera Klutz is the Republican candidate for State Auditor.
During the Convention Holli Sullivan the Incumbent for Secretary of State was defeated by Diego Morales. Sullivan was appointed by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, who did not make an appearance at the convention.
Morales will face Democrat Destiny Wells and Libertarian Candidate Jeff Maurer in the November election.
Daniel Elliott won the Republican candidate for State Treasurer after three rounds of voting. Elliott faced off with three other candidates. Elliott will face off with Democrat nominee Jessica McClellan from Monroe County.
Tera Klutz ran unopposed for State Auditor and will face off with Democrat ZeNai Brooks.
In other convention business, the Indiana State platform will include opposition to teaching Critical Race Theory in the classroom, opposition to pornographic material does not belong in the classroom, and the belief that transgender girls should not participate in girl sports.
