HOOSIER UPLANDS TO HELP HURON VFD WITH FURNANCE REPLACEMENT

HURON - NOVEMBER 24, 2022 - Huron Fire Chief Bill Kinser says that Hoosier Uplands have agreed to help the department with replacing the department's furnace.

The department was down to one hanging furnace and the fire department finances would not support a replacement.

The department insurance is estimated at $15,000 and the township fire protection fund is only $17,500. This leaves the fire department to fundraise for fuel for trucks, utilities and other equipment purchases.

" We really want to thank the Hoosier Uplands for helping us out with the project," said Huron Fire Chief Bill Kinser.

The Huron Volunteer Fire Department covers the southern portion of Spice Valley Township south of the White River.
