High Winds Bringing Down Trees, and Powerlines Throughout Area
AREA - FEBRUARY 9, 2023 - Area police and fire departments are reporting numerous trees, powerlines, and other debris are in the roadways throughout the area.

Jasper State Police Post are reporting several trees and powerlines down in their coverage area.
In Greene County at 7:28 am an unfounded report of a powerline on a vehicle sent fire crews from the Center-Jackson Fire Territory in the 5700 East American Bottoms Road. A powerline in trees was discovered in the area.
In addition, trees were reported down on Indiana State Road 54 near Raines Road that were removed. Lyons Fire Department was also dispatched to trees down.
Wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour are expected throughout the day.
Power outages have been reported in several locations throughout southern Indiana. Utility companies have crews ready to respond to outages.
Duke Energy alerted their customers yesterday, advising them they are prepared for today's weather event.
Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling and be prepared for downed powerlines. Be sure to treat all power lines as live and notify the utility companies of any downed powerlines.
