Ken Pounders was addicted to drugs 40 years ago but was saved and has not only ministered in the United States but places like Ukraine

Ken Pounders Director of OMA Inc. and evangelist from Vallehermoso Springs, Alabama brought a message of hope and good news to those who are facing drug addiction or any sin problem for that matter.

Minister Pounders has evangelized in the United States including the Ukraine spreading the Good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pounders trains other ministers to go into the difficult places around the world equipping them to be disciples and to make other disciples for Jesus Christ.

40 years ago you would have never known that Ken Pounders would have been a minister. In fact, most people would have written him off as being any kind of benefit to anyone. Pounders was addicted to drugs and charged with many drug related offenses.

" My life was completely out of control and there was a man in Huntsville, Alabama that got me out of jail. As an alternative to prison , Outreach Ministries led me to the lord and for a year how to live out my faith," said Pounders.

Pounders father was in the military man, and moved to Huntsville because of that.

According to Pounders he didn't know why? but began to rebel. At the age of 12 begin to experimenting with drugs, and alcohol. " I was wasted my teen years into my early 20s using drugs and alcohol. Eventually that was my life all day, everyday. By the age of 16 I started using mainstream narcotics. By then my life really started to spin out of control. In fact by the time I was 18 and turned 20, I was arrested 12 different times. I was literally in jail so much , the jailer looked at me and said I will see you again next week," Pounders noted.

" To this day I do not know why I said this, I looked at him and said you will not find me here again unless I am preaching the gospel. And a week later I gave my life to Jesus,"

This was Pounders short account of that portion of his life. Pounders was in a lot of legal trouble. Pounders was on the way to prison, in fact the Judge who was in charge of his case was known to be extremely tough. She sentenced Pounders to five years in the Alabama State Penitentiary. However, she looked at Pounders and told him " I am going to give you an opportunity. I am going to suspend your sentence and send you to Outreach Ministries of Alabama,"

The program is a 12-month discipleship program for men. Pounders in his first night there surrendered his life to Christ.

Pounders is now the director of that ministry because he later married Sonja, the man's daughter and went into missionary's ministry but remained close to that ministry.

When those who arrive with drug addiction the men are usually in very bad shape, however the transformation usually begins about two weeks after entering the program and changes in them are noticed.

For those who are interested in his program can reach out to Outreach Ministries Alabama at 828-429- 5282.

TELL THE GOOD NEWS

During the evening service Pounders went on to deliver a message of Good News to those who gathered to listen to music and unity of several churches in the Seymour area who converged to hear the preaching, music and fellowship of unbelievers and believers of Jesus Christ.

Pounders using the biblical account from 2 Kings Chapter 7 of the Miraculous provision for Samaria. It was not a good time for anyone, which they was selling donkey heads, dove dung, and prior to that women has killing their children just to be able to survive. There was not much good news going on at the time.

In verses 2 Kings Chapter 7: 1-2 Then Elisha said " Hear the word of the Lord. Thus saith the Lord " Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a skekel, and two seahs of barely for a shekel at the gate of Samaria," So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, " Look, if the Lord would make windows in heave, could this thing be?" And he said " In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it,"

The church and God's people always get blamed for the calamities that fall on people. The prices on products were not cheap, but they were not even close to the famine conditions associated with the siege. But by the next day the economic conditions would change, and good product would be available again.

The turn of events happen when four lepers came to the entrance of the gate of the city and said to themselves. " Why are we sitting here until we die? If we say if we enter the city we die, the famine in the city and we shall die there. And if we sit here we die also. So they decided to surrender to the Syrian Army. " If they keep us alive we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall only die.

The next morning and went to the camp of the Syrians and there was no one there, The army surrounded Syria for many years. This was a supply center for thousands of men. The camp was full of supplies but no army. They came to the edge of the camp, and walked around the furthermost part of the camp. They came as the path that someone afar would come and approach the city. Somehow the Lord magnified their footsteps and the Syrian Army heard those footsteps as chariots and noise of horses.

The army fled, the area and left the camp intact, and the Siege of Syria was now over.

The lepers who were responsible for this great feat at first went tent by tent and started hiding the all the spoils and food etc. But then they said to themselves " We are not doing this right. This is the day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning some punishment will come to us, let us go and tell the King's household. The lepers shared their blessing with the others.

In an era of bad news gets all the attention, there is good news that is still happening in most cases outweighs the bad.

There are two questions that people want to know when it comes to evangelism which is:

  • One is Jesus Real

  • Can Lives Really be Changed
