Four Men Shot at Two Locations in Bloomington Saturday Morning

BLOOMINGTON - (April 23, 2022) - Bloomington Police Department continue to investigate a shooting that have left four men injured from gunshot wounds. At least two of the suspects have been arrested as of 4:00 a.m.



The reported shooting occurred just after 1:00 a.m. at Kalao bar located at 8th and Walnut Streets. Three men were found injured at that location. Three ambulances were dispatched to that scene.


One of those victims suffering a gunshot wound to his leg and was immediately transported to IU Bloomington Hospital.


Just minutes after the first shooting Bloomington Police received a report of a another shooting at 6th and Lincoln Streets by the Monroe County Library. The original report stated that two people were shot. However, only one person was found shot in a vehicle on the parking lot.


The Indiana State Police assisted the Bloomington Police Department in helping secure the crime scene.


Police were able to get a description of the suspects from video obtained of the incident. One of the suspects being described as a Black Male, 5 - 9 to Six feet tall, wearing a yellow shirt.


At around 3:00 a.m. the Indiana University Police Department found the vehicle reported in the shooting and police converged on the area. It was reported that three of the suspects ran from the vehicle. Two of those suspects were later located and taken into custody. One suspect still remains at large.


There is no other information on whether the two shooting locations are related at this time. The names of the suspects and motives behind the shooting has not been released at this time.
