FAYETTEVILLE - AUGUST 8, 2023 - On August 7th, around 2:30pm, Lawrence County Officers Kinsley Duncan and Kenton Carter responded to a residence in the 2000 block of SR 158 for a report of a domestic dispute. While there, probable cause was established to believe there was methamphetamine and other illegal substances present. Officer Duncan applied for, and obtained, a search warrant for the property.

The search revealed that Nicholas Beverstock (41 years old of Bedford) and Kelly Lowery (51 years old of Bedford) were in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Sharon Shirley (63 years old of Bedford) was found to be in possession of legend drugs (prescription pills without a prescription), marijuana, and paraphernalia. Evidence was recovered that indicated all three were involved in the illegal use of the drugs. Officers arrested the three for possession of the listed illegal substances. Sgt. Michael Williams and Officer Robin Compton also assisted. A report on the domestic dispute has been submitted to the prosecutor for review of possible charges associated with that incident.
Bedford: On August 8th, around 12:15am, Capt. Harrison Fleetwood conducted a traffic stop along US 50 East near Boyd Lane. He detected indicators of criminal activity and nervousness from the vehicle occupants. Capt. Fleetwood obtained consent to search the car. He was assisted by Sgt. Michael Williams and Officer Clifford Pruett. The search revealed that the male driver, Mark Kessner (40 years old of Medora) was in possession of approximately 3 grams of methamphetamine. Capt. Fleetwood arrested Kessner for the possession offense.
