MITCHELL - OCTOBER 2, 2022 - Four people were injured in a traffic accident at the intersection of Indiana State Road 60 West and Indiana State Road 37 Sunday afternoon.
A pick-up caught fire following a traffic accident, firefighters from Mitchell Fire Department used fire extinguishers and fire hose to extinguish the fire
The accident was reported at 2:56 p.m. Sunday afternoon, when a vehicle traveling northbound Indiana State Road 37 was attempting to turn west on Indiana State Road 60 west was struck by a pick-up truck traveling southbound on Indiana State Road 37.
The Mitchell Police Department is continuing to investigate the accident, with a complete accident report unavailable at this time.
Four people were transported from the accident scene by two IU Lifeline ground ambulances to local hospitals.
A Stat-Flight helicopter was dispatched to a landing- zone at the Mitchell Industrial Park but was not needed.
Bedford Fire Department, Mitchell Police Department, Mitchell Fire Department and Mikel's Wrecker responded to the scene. Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the landing-zone at the Mitchell Industrial Park.
