Four File to fill Mitchell Mayor Post

MITCHELL - OCTOBER 21, 2022 - So far, our candidates have filed to fill the vacancy of Mitchell Mayor J.D. England.

List of candidates include:

• Nathan Jenkins - Who is currently serving as a Mitchell City Council member

• Corey Pace -

• James William McFarland -

• Danny Terrell - Who has previously served as Mitchell Mayor

The Lawrence County Republican Party will be holding a caucus for the vacant City of Mitchell Mayoral position left vacant due to the resignation of Mayor JD England, on Saturday, November 12th, 2022.

Time and location will be announced soon.

"The Republican party thanks Mayor England for his service to the city and county. Lawrence County Republican Party Precinct Committee-people that reside within the city of Mitchell will gather to vote on any candidates who file with the Lawrence County clerk for the vacant seat.," said Heath Hawkins Chairman of the Republican Party.
