Four Candidates in Mitchell Mayor Race at this time
LAWRENCE COUNTY - JANUARY 27, 2023 - Four candidates have filed for the Mitchell Mayor race as of Friday morning.
The four candidates for City of Mitchell Mayor include:
Vicky Schlegel - Republican - City of Mitchell Mayor
Don Caudell - Republican - City of Mitchell Mayor
Nathan Jenkins - Republican - City of Mitchell Mayor
Eugene Terrell Jr. - Democrat - City of Mitchell Mayor
The only other contested races are in the City of Bedford City Council At-Large seats which include, Heath Hawkins, Angel Hawkins and Dan Bortner in which only two can be elected to those seats.
Filings for this year's municipal elections have been very slow. February 3, 2023, at noon, is the last day candidates can file for election.

Important dates:
January 4, 203 - First Day of Candidate filing.
February 3, 2023 - Last Day to file declaration of candidacy to run in municipal election
February 10, 2023 - Deadline to withdraw from municipal primary election
February 10, 2023 - Deadline to open candidate finance committee for candidate filing a declaration of candidacy for the primary election and running for office paying more than $5,000 in a calendar year
May 2 - Primary Election Day
