Five Injured in Four Vehicle Crash at State Road 37 and Old State Road 37 Friday Night
JUDAH - ( December 17, 2021) - Five people were injured in a traffic accident at the intersection of State Road 37 and Old State Road 37 North Friday night.
According to the Lawrence County Police report a person looking at his cell phone and became distracted caused the four-vehicle traffic accident.
The accident reported at 7:39 p.m. Friday night with all involved escaping serious injuries. A Honda Odyssey, which was in the outside straight lane, was struck by a GMC Sierra that was stationary at the stoplight in the right turn lane of Southbound State Road 37. This caused a chain reaction accident. The third vehicle an Equinox was struck by the Sierra pick-up and the Equinox striking a rear of a Nissan Rogue.
According to the police report Gregory Page driver of the Honda Odyssey was looking at his phone for a moment and the light turned green striking the pickup truck.
A passenger in the GMC Sierra was complaining of leg pain and was transported to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital in Bedford. Another passenger of the GMC Sierra was complaining of to his nose pain but did not think it was broken.
The driver of the Honda Odessey had bleeding to his hands. Two other people was at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital being treated with one patient complaining of arm pain another person complaining of rib pain.
Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, IU Lifeline Ambulance, and Marshall Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the accident.
