First Week of Early Voting Slow According to Sidney Carlile Voter Registration Clerk

LAWRENCE COUNTY - (April 8, 2022) - The first week of voting has been slow at the Lawrence County Voter Registration office according to Sidney Carlile, Voter Registration Clerk.

" We have an average of about 30-40 voters a day so far. The voting has been considered slow. But, we have not had any issues and things have been going smoothly so far," said Carlile.


Early voting is taking place April 5th -29th at the Lawrence County Voter Registration located at the Lawrence County Courthouse Plaza. The Lawrence County Courthouse Plaza is located at 918 16th Street, in Bedford.



The hours of early voting will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from April 5th - April 29th.


Saturday voting on April 23rd and 30th, with voting taking place on Saturdays both at the Lawrence County Courthouse and Mitchell Community Center from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.


May 2nd from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Lawrence County Courthouse Plaza.


Election Day May 3rd: Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.




In 2018, in Lawrence County there were 30,453 voters with only 6,128 votes cast. In 2014, election there were just over 4,200 voters who cast votes.
