Updated: Firefighters Have Blaze Under Control at Woodland Springs Apartments

BLOOMINGTON - (March 29, 2022) - Firefighters are battling a large apartment fire at Woodland Springs Apartment in the 3111 block of Leonard Springs Road.

The fire was reported at 10:03 p.m.

Monroe County Sheriff's Department and Bloomington Police Department are trying to kept onlookers away. Indiana State Police has Tapp Road at Leonard Springs Road closed to traffic.

Leonard Springs Road is closed in the area as firefighters are laying hose lines from fire hydrants to help fight the fire.

Monroe Fire Protection District and Bloomington Fire Department is on the scene. At least one firefighter has been injured with a ankle injury.

The fire was reported under control at 10:55 p.m.

The utility companies have been contacted to shut off both gas and electric to the facility.
