Firefighters Respond to tire fire in Northern Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY - FEBRUARY 7, 2023 - At approximately 9 :00 am Ellettsville Fire Department was dispatched to assist Bean Blossom Twp. Stinesville Fire Department with an outside fire in the 9000 block of Texas Ridge Road.

Upon arrival of a brush rig 71, Tender assistance was requested from Ellettsville and Owen Valley Fire Territory (Owen County).

Water shuttle was established with 3 tenders. The brush fire was quickly controlled and units then focused on the trailers full of old tires.

A excavator was used to remove the tires from the trailers so firefighters could extinguish the fire.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Monroe County Solid Waste District also assisted on scene.

No injuries were reported.
