MITCHELL - ( March 29, 2022) - Firefighters responded to Steeltech Industries 240 South Meridian Road in Mitchell Tuesday morning.
Mitchell and Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a commercial fire alarm at 12:21 a.m. There was an actual fire at the location, and Marion Township requested a 2nd Alarm assignment for their department.
Firefighters used smoke ejectors to clear out the smoke and make sure the fire was extinguished.
" We arrived and found smoke inside the building. The fire was put out by the sprinkler system. The cause of the fire is under investigation," said Wayne Coble Assistant Fire Chief Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department.
Four engines from both departments responded to the incident. Seals Ambulance, Mitchell Police and Lawrence County Police Departments both responded to the scene.
Firefighters were on the scene approximately one hour and half.
No injuries were reported. There was no one working at the time of the fire.
