FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO HOUSE FIRE ON BRICK STREET IN SPRINGVILLE

SPRINGVILLE - DECEMBER 20, 2022 - No one was injured in a residential fire at 105 Brick Street in Springville.





The fire reported at 1:34 a.m. Tuesday morning. The owners of the home was able to escape from the fire.


The home was owned by the Tim and Tracy Baker. They have resided in the home for several years.



Deputies from the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department arrived to make sure no one was in the home.



Firefighters from Perry Township, Indian Creek Township, Oolitic and Marshall Township was dispatched to the fire. Firefighters used a nearby fire hydrant to feed water into fire engines and tankers. It took about one hour to get the fire under control.


It is believed a couple pets perished inside the home.


Duke Energy was contacted to disconnect the power to the home as electrical lines were arching.


The cause of the fire is unknown at this time,



Lawrence County Sheriff's Department helped with traffic control, and IU Lifeline Ambulance Service stood-by while firefighters battled the fire.
