OWENSBURG - ( APRIL 24, 2022) - On April 24th 2022 at approximately 7:54 pm, Center-Jackson Fire Territory was dispatched to 3679 S State Road 45 for a garage fire with a vehicle inside.

While en-route Greene County Sheriff Department advised that the garage was approximately 20’ away from the home. As units were arriving, dispatch advised the fire was spreading to the deck and the house.
Engine 21 arrived approximately 8 minutes after dispatch.
As Engine 21 arrived, fire was found on the outside of the residence and on the deck. The garage was fully involved. Engine 21 crew quickly initiated an attack on the residence and kept the fire contained to the outside wall.
Crews entered the home to complete a primary search and check for fire extension into the home. A defensive attack was performed on the garage. With those quick actions the home only had exterior damage and no fire penetrated the walls into the home.
The fire is still under investigation but no foul play is expected.
