Firefighters Battling Wildland Fire on East Hardin Ridge Road - One Firefighter Injured

HARDIN RIDGE - OCTOBER 19, 2022 - Firefighters from Monroe and Lawrence Counties are working a wildland fire in the 8300 block of East Hardin Ridge Road in Monroe County.

The call came into Monroe County Central dispatch around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.


An ambulance has been dispatched to the scene for an injured firefighter.


The Marshall Township and Pleasant Run Township Volunteer Fire Departments from Lawrence County and U.S. Forestry Service is assisting the Monroe Fire Protection District in fighting this fire.


The cause of the fire is not known at this time. There is not a burn ban in effect for either Lawrence or Monroe Counties. With dry and windy conditions outside burning is discouraged until a significant amount of rain has occurred.
