Firefighters battling both heat and residential fire in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY - AUGUST 25 - 2023 - Firefighters from four fire departments are battling the heat and a house fire in the 3800 block of Olive Branch Road.

The call reporting the fire came in at 6:19 pm Friday night.

The Pierce-Polk Township Volunteer requested the assistance from Franklin, Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Departments and Salem Fire Department.

Due to the extreme heat additional water and Gatorade is being used to hydrate firefighters.

Washington County EMS was dispatched to help monitor firefighters as the fight the fire.

The firefighter were able to get the fire under control just after 7:00 pm.

No word at this time what caused the fire.
