BEDFORD - FEBRAURY 25, 2023 - A garage was destroyed by fire Saturday afternoon. The 911 call reporting the fire came in at 2:44 pm Saturday afternoon.
The address to the location of the fire was 111 Creekside Drive in eastern Lawrence County located just off Indiana State Road 446.

According to Shawswick Township Volunteer Fire Chief Austin Brown the property owner went inside his residence after leaving his garage for a few minutes and came out and discovered the smoke.
The garage contained a Recreational Vehicle that was consumed in the fire and destroyed the contents inside the garage. "The property owner was able to get a tractor and Zero- Turn mower out of the garage, and they were unharmed," said Brown.
Firefighters were on the scene for about one and half hours with members of Shawswick ( Lawrence County Fire Territory), Pleasant Run Township Volunteer Fire Departments, and Lawrence County Fire Territory EMS 11 responded to the incident.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time. There were no injuries reported.
