FINAL PAYMENT FOR PLAZA DRIVE PROJECT IS APPROVED
BEDFORD - JANUARY 9, 2023 - The Bedford Redevelopment Commission approved the final payment of $126,187.50 for the Plaza Drive Project Monday afternoon.

The Plaza Drive Project bond was issued in 2015, at cost of $1.905 Million. The bond issued in 2017 for $3.5 Million will not be paid off until 2037.
Approved the date change from December 12, 2022, to November 11, 2022, in agreement between Fox Construction and the RDC. An error was made in the documents.

The new Bedford Police Station is not expected to be completed until July 2023
In other business:
The RDC approved the payment of $313,491.77 to Midwestern Engineers for their work on the plans for the new Bedford Police Station in the 2600 block of 16th Street.
Change order was approved to construct an additional 42 feet of 6ft Molded Stone fencing at the new police station at cost off $5,376.00
Approved the change order to remove ballistic rated construction in the vestibule of the new police station, to Interior window framing and glazing of standard aluminum. Chief Terry Moore told RDC the ballistic window was not needed at the present location. This was a savings of $16,202.00
The RDC new officers will remain the same for 2023 with Penny May, president, Judy Carlisle as vice -president, and Ryan Griffith, Secretary.
