Fatal Accident Under Investigation in Washington County

SALEM - (February 2, 2022) - On Wednesday, March 2nd, at approximately 5:46 A.M., Deputies of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to West State Road 60, West of Rush Creek Road, in reference to a report of a multiple vehicle crash.




Preliminary investigation indicated that a 2006 Chevy Colorado pickup truck, driven by Jerrod Dotts (age 41) of Campbellsburg was west bound on State Road 60 when it collided head-on with an east bound 2014 Ford F-150, driven by Wyatt Batchelor (age 62) of Campbellsburg.


After the crash occurred, a west bound 2017 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Brent Ingram of Campbellsburg, crashed into the Chevy Colorado which was stationary in the roadway.


Dotts was pronounced deceased at the scene. Batchelor was pronounced deceased while en route to the hospital. Ingram was transported to Saint Vincent Hospital in Salem for what is believed to be minor injury.


Crash scene reconstructionist from the Indiana State Police were called to the scene to assist.


The crash is still under investigation at this time.


Washington County Sheriff's Department, Washington County EMS, Salem Fire Department, Salem Police Department, Washington County Coroner’s Office, and the Indiana State Police responded to the accident.
