Fatal Accident at Indiana State Road 37 and 16th Street in Bedford Wednesday morning

BEDFORD - FEBRUARY 15, 2023 - One person has died following a traffic accident at Indiana State Road 37 and 16th Street in Bedford early Wednesday morning.

Karlie Holt, 42, Orleans suffered internal injuries from the accident and was transported from IU Bedford Hospital to IU Health Bloomington where Holt later died from the injuries sustained in the crash.

According to police reports Adam Redmon 40, pulled into the path of a vehicle being driven by Brandon Meadway, 26, Bedford who was traveling southbound on Indiana State Road 37 approaching the intersection when Redmon failed to yield the right of way.

Both Redmon and Medaway was transported to IU Bedford Hospital for their injuries.

Redmon was not able to remember what caused the collision and not able to give consent for a blood draw. A warrant was obtained and granted for the blood draw. Both drivers will be tested for drugs and alcohol.

This would make the second fatal crash on Indiana State Road 37 within the city limits in two weeks. A Bedford man died in a traffic accident at John Williams Blvd and Indiana State Road 37 after he was hit working on his disabled vehicle.
