Enrollment Surpasses 300 at Lawrence County Independent Schools for next school year
FAYETTEVILLE - MAY 1, 2022 - The Lawrence County Independent Schools enrollment will surpass 300 students for the upcoming school year.

The soft close for enrollment was April 15, and 302 students chose to come back for the next school year.
A lottery will affect some grade levels at the school and that lottery will have to be done publicly. A special meeting will be announced when this is done.
Some classrooms will have increased class sizes, but more staff will be hired to help with the increase in students.

In other business:
Attendance has improved at the school and is approaching standard
LCIS received a Target Grant in the amount of $200 to go towards teacher appreciation
There will be an Open House on May 10th at the LCIS facility
Cannon Falls was approved to provide IT support to its Chrome books and repairs. This company is local and will help with getting the repairs made quickly and save on downtime of the Chrome books.
Approved the 2022-2023 School Calendar - A total of 185 days was added due to changes in state law. With the changes made there were also approval of changes to payroll, compensation, and leave policy
