Emergency Personnel searching for hunter in Southern Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY - NOVEMBER 18, 2023 - Update: The person has been found this came after a cell phone had died due to a dead battery and the caller became concerned. The person was found within minutes of emergency personnel arriving.

Emergency personnel from Indiana Consveration Department, Monroe Fire Protection District, Monroe County Sheriff's Department and Pleasant Run Township are searching for a hunter that has not returned.

The search is underway in the area of Dutch Ridge Road and Indiana State Road 446 in Monroe County.

The call for help was placed at 9:36 pm Saturday night. Monroe County officials requested assistance from the Pleasant Run Township firefighters in Lawrence County.
