Ellettsville Fire Chief Mike Cornman Retires After 43 Years of Dedicated Service

ELLETSVILLE - MAY 9, 2022 - Ellettsville Fire Chief Mike Cornman announced his retirement at tonight’s meeting of the Ellettsville Town Council. Cornman has served the fire department for 43 years, the last 38 as a paid firefighter. He will remain on the department as a volunteer firefighter. Cornman’s last day will be June 3rd.

Taking over the reins of the department will be 34-year veteran Kevin Patton, the department’s current Deputy Chief. Patton’s current position will be assumed by current Assistant Chief Chris Clouse a 25-year veteran of the fire department. The town council approved both appointments to take effect on June 4th.
