Dump Truck Rolls Over on State Road 60 East in Washington County

PEKIN - JULY 27, 2023 - A dump truck rolled over on Tuesday evening on Indiana State Road 60 East near Voyles Road.

The 911 call reporting the accident with injuries came in at 5:33 pm Tuesday evening.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Department Joseph Allen, 25, Salem, was traveling westbound on Indiana State Road 60 in a International Dump Truck, when he ran off the roadway to avoid a motorcycle in front of him.

The motorcycle was stopped in traffic, Allen's dump truck flipped over and came to rest on the northside of the roadway. Allen was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Allen was taken from the scene by Washington County Emergency Medical Services to St. Vincent Hospital in Salem for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident was investigated by Washington County Deputy Haille Lopotosky and assisted by Sgt. Matt Hein.

Pekin Town Marshal, Indiana State Police, Washington County Ambulance Service, Pierce-Polk Township, Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted the Washington County Sheriff's Department at the scene of the accident.
