Don George running for Bedford City Council 5th District as Democrat Candidate
BEDFORD - JULY 6, 2023 - Don George announced he will be seeking the office of Bedford City Council, Fifth District as a Democrat.
Don is a Hoosier through and through. Grew up in Bedford, attended Stalker Grade School, Bedford Jr. High, and BNL graduating in 1983.
Don has always considered himself a Bedford boy even though his work has taken him around the state, and other parts of the country.
Don attended Indiana University following high school where he studied Political Science and Criminal Justice.
Don returned to Bedford full-time in 2019 to care for his aging mother, Jo Ann George who just celebrated her 95Th birthday.
Don had moved to Phoenix, AZ for a career change as a respected addiction rehab and HIV educator working with marginalized groups in their teens well into adulthood. In addition to caring for his mother, he has worked with IU Health in their outreach program and serves on two state advisory committees committed to ending drug addiction and the spread of HIV.
